Seven East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania faculty members and over 70 graduate and undergraduate students attended the convention of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association held in Philadelphia in November.\u00a0The event was attended by over 15,000 individuals seeking continuing education, networking, and job and educational opportunities.<\/p>\n
Faculty and students were involved in presentations at the event. Assistant Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders Susan Dillmuth-Miller, Au.D, along with program graduates Dawn Craig and Mark Wallace presented a seminar called \u201cDon\u2019t Settle for a Could Not Test:\u00a0Strategies to Screen the Hearing of Individuals with Autism.\u201d\u00a0Dr. Dillmuth-Miller also presented a poster session called \u201cAttitudes Towards Noise Exposure:\u00a0CSD vs. Non-CSD Students\u201d with Theodore Johnson\u00a0of Validosta State and Benjamin Lovett of SUNY Cortland.\u00a0Professor and Chair of Communication Sciences and Disorders Elaine M. Shuey, Ph.D., presented a poster called \u201cInterprofessional Education \u2013 A Collaboration\u00a0Between Speech-Language Pathology & Modern Languages\u201d with Jeffrey Ruth, Ph.D., professor and chair of modern languages at ESU, and Morgan Barry Seibert, a graduate student. She also presented a poster called \u201cService Learning through Computer Tutoring of Older Adults\u201d with graduate student Julie Rehrig and former students Tash Fieldsand and Sarah England. Current graduate student Emily Zborowski presented \u201cPilot Results of a Voice Evaluation App\u201d with faculty and students from West Chester University, her undergraduate institution.<\/p>\n
