The Schisler Museum of Wildlife & Natural History and McMunn Planetarium at East Stroudsburg University has set its spring semester hours. The facility is open to the public on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. \u2013 3 p.m. The facility is reserved for pre-registered group visits on Tuesdays and Thursdays.<\/p>\n
Housed in the Warren E. \u201955 and Sandra Hoeffner Science and Technology Center, the state-of-the-art planetarium and world-class museum offer something for everyone. Nearly all of the museum\u2019s 130-plus taxidermy exhibits were collected and donated by East Stroudsburg University alumni Arthur \u201962 and Fannie Greene \u201962 Schisler. The museum also boasts a 300-gallon aquarium and insects from around the globe. The McMunn Planetarium is named in honor of ESU supporters and alumni Charles A. \u201cTony\u201d \u201969 and Patricia Lythgoe \u201968 McMunn.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis semester we are adding a new family program to the schedule. On the first Friday of each month starting in February, we will offer Nature by Night Flashlight Tours,\u201d said Catherine Klingler, curator. \u201cKids ages 4\u201313 accompanied by an adult can roam the world\u2019s habitats after dark.\u201d The event includes a flashlight tour, planetarium film, craft and gift bag. General admission for the museum and planetarium is $6 for adults; $4 for senior citizens and children ages 3\u201317; and free for children 2 and under and ESU students with ID. Annual memberships are also available at the Individual ($30), Dual ($50) and Family ($60) level.
