East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania welcomes back, for the second year, Global Week. Taking place Sunday, April 2 \u2013 Saturday, April 8, Global Week will allow ESU students, faculty, staff and the local community to celebrate the rich diversity that makes up the campus community.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s theme is Be the Change. \u201cOur goal this year is to focus on three aspects of the human experience,\u201d said Fernando Alc\u00e1ntar, director of student engagement. \u201cWe want the students to become an advocate to those who need a voice, learn how to communicate with someone who is different than them in some way, and experience something new and extraordinary.\u201d<\/p>\n
The events for the week include discussions about race, politics, religion, gender, sexual orientation, and physical ability. The main event, a world fair, will have international music and food, traditional activities from regions in America, Asia, the Caribbean, the Amazon Jungle, Europe, and South America, and live animals like a camel, a lama, and a yak.<\/p>\n
