The Schisler Museum of Wildlife & Natural History and McMunn Planetarium at East Stroudsburg University has set its summer hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.\u20134 p.m., June 1\u2013August 19, 2017. A single entrance fee provides admission to both facilities.<\/p>\n
ESU\u2019s Warren E. \u201955 and Sandra Hoeffner Science and Technology Center houses a state-of-the-art planetarium as well as a world-class museum with more than 130 taxidermy exhibits, hands-on exploration, and insects from around the globe.<\/p>\n
Nearly all of the museum\u2019s taxidermy exhibits were collected and donated by East Stroudsburg University alumni Arthur \u201962 and Fannie Greene \u201962 Schisler. The McMunn Planetarium is named in honor of ESU supporters and alumni Charles A. \u201cTony\u201d \u201969 and Patricia Lythgoe \u201968 McMunn.<\/p>\n
Schisler Museum and McMunn Planetarium offer a full range of family programming, including Nature by Night Flashlight Tours<\/em> on the first Friday of each month. Group visits, birthday parties, and special event rentals are also available.<\/p>\n \u201cThe museum and planetarium are an exciting discovery zone for explorers of all ages,\u201d says Catherine Klingler, curator. \u201cAside from the beauty of the wildlife specimens and the immersive planetarium films, we love hearing from our visitors that they can\u2019t believe this hidden treasure exists right here in the Poconos.\u201d<\/p>\n General admission is $6 for adults; $4 for senior citizens and children ages 3-17; and free for ESU students with ID and children two years old and under.
