Cohen Recital Hall of East Stroudsburg University\u2019s Fine and Performing Arts Center, Normal and Marguerite streets, East Stroudsburg.<\/p>\n<p>The program will feature works by composers Samuel Barber, Charles Ives and Henri Duparc and selections from the musical theatre repertoire.\u00a0Kimberly Kong will be the accompanist for the recital.<\/p>\n<p>General admission for the program is $20; senior citizens and students are $15. A portion of the proceeds from the recital will benefit the ESU Foundation\u2019s Theatre Department Scholarship Fund.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets will be available at the door.\u00a0For reservations, please call 570-422-3483, x. 4.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2014 Lehman has performing lead roles at the Deutsche Oper Berlin including Valentin in <em>Faust<\/em>, Sargente in <em>Manon Lescaut<\/em>, Fiorello in <em>Il barbiere di Siviglia <\/em> and Xaretsy in <em>Eugene Onegin<\/em>.\u00a0He made his professional operatic debut in 2010 as Guglielmo in <em>Cosi fan tutte<\/em> with the Delaware Valley Opera and also has appeared as a studio artist with the Chautauqua Opera.<\/p>\n<p>Praised for his \u201cpleasant, well-rounded voice,\u201d Lehman has performed solo in works by Bach, Britten, Dvo\u0159\u00e1k, Orff, Beethoven, Schubert, Handel, Haydn, Schumann and others; the requiems of Durufl\u00e9, Mozart, and Brahms; and in pieces by contemporary composers including Ricardo Zohn-Muldoon and Arlene Sierra.<\/p>\n<p>During the summer of 2014 Lehman was selected to participate in the Ravinia Festival\u2019s Steans Music Institute, where he worked with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Kevin Murphy, Patricia McCaffrey, Stephen King and other artists.\u00a0 One of four winners of the Opera Foundation Scholarships, Lehman won first place and the Lynne Clarke Vocal Prize at the 2010 Friends of Eastman Opera Competition.\u00a0 He earned degrees from Ithaca College and Eastman School of Music.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about the program, please contact <a href=\"mailto:esuarts@esu.edu\">esuarts@esu.edu<\/a> or Margaret Ball, D.M.A., chair of the ESU Theatre Department at 570-422-3261.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Internationally renowned baritone Thomas Lehman, a graduate of Stroudsburg High School, will present <em>An Evening of Song<\/em> Thursday, July 27 at 7:30 p.m. in Cecilia S.
