The East Stroudsburg University Fall 2017 Provost\u2019s Colloquium Series continues with Anthony Drago, Ed.D., and his talk titled \u201cUnderstanding and Preventing Suicide\u201d on September 27, 2017. The talk will begin at 5:30 p.m. in Beers Lecture Hall on the ESU campus.<\/p>\n
Dr. Drago is a professor and chair of the psychology department at ESU. He is also a psychologist in private practice and a consultant to various behavioral health agencies in the Pocono Mountain area. Drago\u2019s areas of expertise include Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, 5th edition (DSM-5), suicide and trauma. Dr. Drago has lectured on numerous occasions in the United States, China and Costa Rica. Currently, his research interests include self-efficacy, locus of control, suicide subtypes and caregiver response to autism.<\/p>\n
\u201cUnderstanding and Preventing Suicide\u201d will discuss the issues and disorders that lead to suicide and what can be done to recognize and help prevent it. Drago will provide an overview of suicide statistics, understanding the link between suicide and various psychological disorders, and methods to assess suicide risk.\u00a0 The event is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n
