As part of East Stroudsburg University\u2019s Fall 2017 Provost\u2019s Colloquium Series, Christopher E.S. Warburton, Ph.D., an adjunct faculty member in the department of political science and economics, will present \u201cSustainable Development and Deglobalization: The Atavism of Insularity.\u201d The talk will be held in Beers Lecture Hall on October 11, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n
Dr. Warburton will discuss how technological innovation and international trade can spur economic growth and sustainable development within a structured environment of trade agreements. His research analyzes trade imbalances, innovation, exchange rates, poverty, and wages and suggests that trade must be strongly encouraged when wages are stagnant, poverty is substantial, production costs are low, and disposable income is insufficient.<\/p>\n
Warburton has published widely in the field of international economics. His most recent papers include \u201cThe International Law and Economics of Coercive Diplomacy\u201d in Applied Econometrics and International Development and \u201cA Theory of Currency Unions and Equity Price Shocks\u201d in Journal of Reviews on Global Economics.<\/p>\n
