This two-week seminar, conducted every four years, includes opportunities for ESU students to interact with journalists and media observers such as Shane Harris of the Washington Post, Steven Roberts of the New York Times, and others. Susan Page, the Washington Bureau Chief for USA Today, has been invited to speak. According to Kimberly S. Adams, Ph.D., professor of political science at ESU and campus liaison to the Osgood Center, the virtual event will also feature experts on American politics, U.S. foreign and domestic policy, the history of the presidential inaugurations and the transition process. Other institutions participating in this program include Baylor University, The University of Maryland, the University of Houston, Howard University, The University of Charleston, Tianjin Foreign Studies University and more.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am so excited for our students to participate in the Osgood Center\u2019s two-week Presidential Inauguration program,\u201d said Dr. Adams. \u201cWhile the pandemic has made it impossible to attend in person, I know that this will be an invaluable [virtual] learning opportunity for our students. I have encouraged them to network and update their resumes for potential internships and\/or employment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ESU students who will be participating in this program are: Kimberly Panico, a graduate student in political science from Tobyhanna, Pa; Jacob Snyder, a senior history major from Nazareth, Pa; Jessica Null, a sophomore political science major from Philadelphia, Pa; Shakira Page, a sophomore criminal justice major from Philadelphia, Pa; Eric Levan, a senior political science major from Spring City, Pa; Amani Yeboah, a sophomore political science major from East Stroudsburg, Pa; and Richard Adami, a senior political science major from Levittown, Pa.<br \/>\nAccording to Dr. Adams, ESU received a scholarship to defray the cost for five ESU students to participate and the University\u2019s department of political science will cover the costs for the remaining two students.
