Samantha Williams, counselor and instructor. The presentation \u201cMoving Beyond Rhetoric: Are we really going to help?\u201d will take place on Wednesday, April 7 at 5:30 p.m. Access the presentation via this Zoom link: <a href=\"https:\/\/esu-online.zoom.us\/j\/91401264453\">https:\/\/esu-online.zoom.us\/j\/91401264453<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In her presentation Williams will attempt to increase insight, knowledge and understanding regarding the needs of students of color, while focusing on their utilization of mental health treatment. COVID-19 restrictions, increasing race-based conflicts, and political discord have intensified the need for supports from college counseling centers, faculty, staff and other supportive resources. Topics to be explored include; rhetoric vs. action\/inaction, identifying and eliminating barriers to implementation of services, and does \u2018inclusion\u2019 apply to counseling and mental health? She will use relatable examples to support the correlation of real-life experiences with presentation content.
