The initiative, appropriately named “Apply in July,” will be a series of in-person events that enable prospective students and their family members to meet members of ESU’s staff, and students, in person and virtually, close to home, and apply for admission to ESU.

“We know how precious the summer can be for students and their families. It’s generally a time for relaxation and rejuvenation, but we also know that this can be prime time for high school graduates and rising seniors to visit colleges and universities and to make some serious decisions about their journey into higher education” said Karen Lucas, ESU’s vice president for enrollment management. “Our ‘Apply in July’ initiative is intended to introduce ESU to interested students where they are. It allows us to answer important questions about applying, financial aid and housing without the travel time to campus when they might rather spend part of their day at the pool, socializing, or working to earn money for their college education. While we hope high school graduates and seniors visit with us, we want to be inclusive of transfer students and non-traditional students looking for an outstanding academic experience. We’ve done some marketing of the ‘Apply in July’ initiative but we also welcome walk-ins to stop by.”

According to Lucas, the “Apply in July” visits will occur weekly throughout the month, every Tuesday through Thursday. Locations for the 2021 initiative were selected based on historical data indicating where ESU students come from. Admissions staff members and students will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., 2 to 4 p.m., and 5 to 7 p.m. at each stop to greet prospective students and families. Plans are also in place to have members of the ESU campus community – specifically individuals from financial aid, – available virtually to answer questions and help families navigate the complexity of the college admission process.

“Apply in July” will conclude with an invitation to all students and families to visit ESU’s campus on Saturday, July 31 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to take a tour and to participate in Instant Decision Day, an opportunity to meet with a college official and receive a same-day admission offer.

ESU “Apply in July” 2021 Calendar

Tuesday, July 6 – Edison, N.J.

Hilton Garden Inn Edison/Raritan Center

50 Raritan Center Pkwy, Edison, NJ 08837

Wednesday, July 7 – North Philadelphia, Pa.

Courtyard Philadelphia City Avenue

4100 Presidential Boulevard Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19131

Thursday, July 8 – West Philadelphia, Pa.

Sonesta Philadelphia Downtown Rittenhouse Square

1800 Market St, Philadelphia, PA 19103

Tuesday, July 13 – King of Prussia, Pa.

Crown Plaza

260 Mall Blvd, King of Prussia, PA 19406

Wednesday, July 14 – Doylestown, Pa.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Doylestown, PA

2650 Kelly Road, Warrington, PA 18976

Thursday, July 15 – Media, Pa.

Comfort Inn & Suites

1110 Baltimore Pike, Glen Mills, PA 19342

Tuesday, July 20 – Garden City, N.Y.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Carle Place, Garden City, NY

40 Westbury Ave, Carle Place, NY 11514

Wednesday, July 21 – Dickson City, Pa.

Hampton Inn Scranton At Montage Mountain

22 Montage Mountain Rd, Scranton, PA 18507

Thursday, July 22 – Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

Hilton Garden Inn Wilkes Barre

242 Highland Park Boulevard, Wilkes-Barre Township, PA 18702

Tuesday, July 27 – Lehigh Valley, Pa.

ESU LVH Center, Bethlehem

60 W Broad St, Bethlehem, PA 18018

Wednesday, July 28 – Reading, Pa.

Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Reading

701 Penn St, Reading, PA 19601

Thursday, July 29 – Harrisburg, Pa.

Hilton Harrisburg

1 N 2nd St, Harrisburg, PA 17101

Saturday, July 31 – ESU campus

200 Prospect Street, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301

While summer months often summon thoughts of vacations, beaches, camping, baseball and more, the Admissions team at ESU is gearing up for a 13-stop tour through Pennsylvania, Northern New Jersey and New York, to meet prospective students where they live.

[143,42

post-21020","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-community","category-news-release
