PNGAS also named ESU to the \u201cBest of the Best\u201d list. ESU first received both distinctions in 2019, the inaugural year for the awards.<\/p>\n<p>Developed by the PNGAS Education Advisory Council, the <em>PNGAS Guard-Friendly School<\/em> standards were designed to recognize colleges, universities and trade schools which meet or exceed 10 baseline criteria that create a supportive learning environment to assist members of the Pennsylvania Guard pursuing post-secondary degrees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGuard members have unique responsibilities, and we know this creates different challenges for them when pursuing a degree,\u201d said ESU Interim President Kenneth Long. \u201cESU has made a deliberate effort to be mindful, accommodating and supportive of our students who are also serving in the Pennsylvania National Guard.
