Earlier this month, three members of the East Stroudsburg University chapter of Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) attended the organization\u2019s district conference in Pittsburgh, Pa. The two-day conference was held at Duquesne University and Point Park University. The ESU PRSSA members who attended the conference were Crystal Renaldi, a senior majoring in communication from Bangor, Pa. and the president of ESU\u2019s chapter of PRSSA; Skyler Wick, a junior majoring in communication from Kennett Square, Pa. and the treasurer of PRSSA; and Francesca Palmeri, a junior majoring in communication from Morganville, N.J. and the PRSSA social media coordinator.<\/p>\n
Over the course of two days the students heard from 20 speakers. One of the most memorable presentations was from Robin Rectenwald, and account executive at BCW Global.<\/em> In her presentation, Lessons Learned After Graduation<\/em>, she talked about her professional career and some vital lessons she has learned. She explained that through networking and perseverance, dreams can certainly become reality.<\/p>\n \u201cSome of the things that stood out to me are that we should never underestimate any one job because it could lead to a dream job,\u201d said Palmeri. \u201cRobin Rectenwald really drove home that we need to go after what we want and leave behind our legacy.\u201d<\/p>\n The Public Relations Student Society of America is a professional organization that has been recognized at ESU since 2011. PRSSA is a club for students looking to hone in on networking and public relations skills.<\/p>\n
