East Stroudsburg University\u2019s Madelon Powers Gallery will present Wesley Brown: Construct from Monday, February 6 \u2013 Friday, March 3. The exhibit will feature ceramic work by Wesley T. Brown, instructor of art + media + design. Hours for the gallery, located in the university\u2019s Fine and Performing Arts Center, Normal and Marguerite streets, are Monday \u2013 Friday, 11 a.m. \u2013 4 p.m.<\/p>\n
A reception for the artist will be held Wednesday, February 8 from 4-6 p.m. in the gallery. Both the exhibit and reception are open to the public at no cost.<\/p>\n
Brown, who also serves as one of ESU\u2019s Fredrick Douglass Scholars, will showcase his ceramic work which is made through a combination of wheel throwing and slab building techniques that he created while in this role. \u201cThrough clay vessels, I explore the concept of identity as the bringing together of varied experiences into a useful story,\u201d Brown says in his artist statement.<\/p>\n
