{"id":22507,"date":"2023-05-10T16:36:37","date_gmt":"2023-05-10T20:36:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/quantum.esu.edu\/insider\/?p=22507"},"modified":"2023-06-07T12:03:04","modified_gmt":"2023-06-07T16:03:04","slug":"esu-college-of-business-management-students-study-abroad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/quantum.esu.edu\/insider\/esu-college-of-business-management-students-study-abroad\/","title":{"rendered":"ESU College of Business Management Students Study Abroad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three East Stroudsburg University Students will take part in the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences European Business &amp; Culture Summer School in Bielefeld, Germany from May 15 through June 23.<\/p>\n<p>Aidan Bonass, a sophomore majoring in accounting from Havertown, Pa.; Joshua Lance, a senior majoring in marketing from Blairstown, N.J.; and John Vanic, a freshman majoring in history from Nazareth, Pa.; won an essay competition sponsored by ESU\u2019s College of Business Management and Office of International Programs that provided funding for the six-week program.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe purpose of this essay competition is to stimulate and demonstrate the ability of future business leaders to identify important issues and developments in today\u2019s global community,\u201d said Sylvester Williams, J.D., Dean of ESU\u2019s College of Business and Management. \u201cESU\u2019s new partnership with Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences will provide business students with an opportunity to learn more about international business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The students will take classes focused on European culture\/cross culture management and European politics and business, as well as visit regional companies with specific corporate culture and government policies.<\/p>\n<p>Along with classroom work, students will take field trips to Hamburg, Berlin, Rotterdam, The Hague, and Amsterdam.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStudy abroad opportunities allow students to broaden their horizons and develop global citizenship. We believe that international travel is an opportunity to learn, grow, and experience a new culture,\u201d said Steve Ives, director of the office of international programs.<\/p>\n<p>Students in ESU\u2019s College of Business and Management had another study abroad opportunity earlier this year. Five students taking Perspectives of International Tourism Management spent a week in San Jose, Costa Rica.
