East Stroudsburg University\u2019s Madelon Powers Gallery will present the first Alumni Biennial Exhibition showcasing the creative works of ESU art + media + design graduates. The exhibition will run November 8 \u2013 December 8.<\/p>\n
Hours for the gallery, located in the university\u2019s Fine and Performing Arts Center, Normal and Marguerite Streets, are Monday \u2013 Friday, 11 a.m. \u2013 4 p.m.<\/p>\n
A reception for the artists will be held Wednesday, November 8, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Both the exhibit and reception are open to the public at no cost.<\/p>\n
Featuring a diverse range of mediums, styles, and concepts, the Alumni Biennale will present the work of alumni who now have careers in photography, graphic design, animation, cinematography, sound recording, fine art, art education, and more.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis show will be presented every two years to provide an ongoing opportunity to showcase the work of the art + media + design alumni and to engage in the work of talented individuals ESU has previously fostered,\u201d said Darlene Farris-LaBar, professor of art + media + design and department chair. \u201cThis exhibition serves as a celebration of the accomplishments of our graduates, which is a testament to the transformative power of art, media, and design and the influence it holds in shaping our world.\u201d<\/p>\n
Alumni presenting work in the show include Alma Barrantes \u201913, Henry Becker \u201914, Abby Bramon \u201913, Terrance Burke \u201994, Joe Caviston \u201909, Jackie Corban \u201915, Lindsay Godin \u201914, Pete Mackey \u201902, Andreas Marquez Alomar\u00a0\u201919, Ed Nufrio \u201914, Michael J Perez \u201920, Emilie Seda \u201920, Beauregard Walker \u201920, and Bethany Wert \u201912.<\/p>\n
Following the November 8 reception, some of the artists will take part in a panel discussion at 5 p.m. in the Cohen Recital Hall.<\/p>\n
The exhibition was co-curated by Farris-LaBar, David Mazure, professor of art + media + design, and Alma Barrantes.<\/p>\n
