{"id":23216,"date":"2024-04-05T13:08:56","date_gmt":"2024-04-05T17:08:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/quantum.esu.edu\/insider\/?p=23216"},"modified":"2024-04-05T13:08:56","modified_gmt":"2024-04-05T17:08:56","slug":"esu-theatre-department-to-present-heathers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/quantum.esu.edu\/insider\/esu-theatre-department-to-present-heathers\/","title":{"rendered":"ESU Theatre Department to Present Heathers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>East Stroudsburg University\u2019s Department of Theatre, Music, and Dance\u00a0will present the hit musical <em>Heathers<\/em>.\u00a0 The cast of over 30 students, directed by Jason Narvy, Ph.D., assistant professor of theatre, will welcome audiences April 11 \u2013 14.<\/p>\n<p>Curtain times for the production are 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday (April 11-13) and 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 14. All performances are in the Smith-McFarland Theatre of the university\u2019s Fine and Performing Arts Center, Normal and Marguerite streets, East Stroudsburg.<\/p>\n<p>General admission is $18, senior citizens, faculty and staff (with ID) are $15, students (with ID) are $10, and youth are $5. Tickets are available online in advance at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esu.edu\/theatre-performances\/index.cfm\">esu.edu\/theatretickets<\/a>. Tickets will also be available at the box office one hour before curtain on performance dates.<\/p>\n<p>This dark-comedy musical, based on the 1988 cult classic film of the same name, follows Veronica Sawyer who joins, then combats the school\u2019s most insidious clique: a group of bullies known as The Heathers. In her journey between bullies, geeks, and goths, she finds herself aligned with a mysterious teen lover, J.D. Together, they invent a plan to weaponize the\u00a0twisted suburban morality that drives their world.<\/p>\n<p>The cast of ESU\u2019s production of Heathers includes Hanna Srour, a senior majoring in theater from Grove City, Pa., as Veronica Sawyer; Logan Keim, a senior majoring in computer science, from Schnecksville, Pa., as J.D.
