East Stroudsburg University announced this year\u2019s Latinx\/Hispanic Heritage Month keynote speaker will be Anthony J. Hinojosa, Vice President of Government & International Affairs for the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. His presentation, \u201cThe role USHCC plays in the Hispanic business community and entrepreneurship, the impact of Hispanics on the US economy,\u201d will take place on Monday, October 6 at 5 p.m. in the Rosenkrans Learning Center on ESU\u2019s campus. The event is open to the public at no cost.<\/p>\n
In his role at the USHCC, Hinojosa drives the organization\u2019s policy agenda, engages stakeholders, and leads efforts with Administration and Congress. Hinojosa previously served as the Director of Federal Affairs for Compassion & Choices, a non-profit organization focused on end-of-life care, where he led a robust federal agenda, developed working relationships with Congress and Administration officials, and oversaw the first organization-led federal legislation. A senior government relations professional with over 20 years of experience in Washington, D.C., Hinojosa has worked in the private and nonprofit sectors, in addition to over six years on Capitol Hill in various roles for former Congressman Gene Green, working tirelessly for the 29th District of Texas, which at one time, included his hometown of Baytown. Hinojosa received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston \u2013 Downtown.<\/p>\n
