The Political Science Department at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) and ESU\u2019s chapter of The American Democracy Project will sponsor a mock presidential debate on Monday, October 29 at 7 p.m. in Abeloff Center for the Performing Arts. The event is open to the general public at no cost.<\/p>\n
According to event organizers, the purpose of this event is to inform the campus and surrounding community about key issues of the current campaign and where each candidate stands. Faculty members from the political science department will represent the positions of major party candidates Mitt Romney and Barack Obama. Members of the audience will be encouraged to pose questions to the faculty after the debate.<\/p>\n
Dr. Jeffery Weber, chair of the political science department and associate professor of public administration, and Dr. Johan Eliasson, associate professor of political science, will represent the positions of Governor Mitt Romney. Dr. Ken Mash, distinguished professor of political science and coordinator of the pre-law program, and Dr. Adam McGlynn, assistant professor of political science, will represent the positions of President Barack Obama. Dana Reese, a senior English and philosophy major and the editor of ESU\u2019s campus newspaper, the Stroud Courier<\/em>, will moderate the debate.<\/p>\n
