East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania\u2019s Lehigh Valley Center at 60 West Broad Street will participate in a special St. Patrick\u2019s celebration in Bethlehem, Pa., on Saturday, March 16.\u00a0\u201cBeth-lum Go Braugh,\u201d which is sponsored by the Downtown Bethlehem Association<\/a> in Bethlehem, will feature many events, including those that follow, which are open to the general public at no cost.<\/p>\n

Pot ‘O’ Gold Scavenger Hunt<\/h3>\n

Those living in or near the Lehigh Valley may visit the website for the Downtown Bethlehem Association<\/a> and download a series of limericks in order to participate in the \u201cPot ‘O’ Gold Scavenger Hunt. Participants are asked to follow clues given in the form of limericks, each one relating to a downtown Bethlehem business or institution, so see if you can guess which limerick represents ESU\u2019s new Lehigh Valley Center!\u00a0 Contestants must recite the correct limerick to a staff member inside the matching business or institution to get your \u201cpassport\u201d stamped, and each stamp will serve as a chance to win the entire pot. Increase your chances of taking home the gold by collecting more stamps. Participants will then have their passports verified by DBA officials in order to enter the contest for the ultimate Pot \u2019O\u2019 Gold, which includes a collection of 20 gift certificates starting at $25 each and an ESU gift basket, valued at over $500. The winner of the Pot ‘O\u2019 Gold will be drawn and announced at noon at American Hairlines in downtown Bethlehem.<\/p>\n

The Parade of Shamrocks<\/h3>\n

Before marching in Bethlehem\u2019s \u201cParade of Shamrocks,\u201d which kicks off at 1 p.m., ESU’s mascot, Burgy, will trade in his Warrior\u2019s tunic for a kilt to participate in Donegal Square\u2019s \u201cBest Legs in a Kilt\u201d contest at 11 a.m. on Walnut Street in front of Granny McCarthy’s Tea Room. Immediately following this contest, everyone\u2019s favorite 7-foot-tall bear will greet passers-by at ESU\u2019s Lehigh Valley Center from noon until the start of the parade.<\/p>\n

All fun-loving kids and adults are welcome to come and meet Burgy, receive free Mardi Gras beads to wear for the parade, win prizes, and check out Burgy\u2019s latest ride \u2013 the Burgy-Mobile!\u00a0So come hang out with Burgy before the parade and learn more about ESU\u2019s presence in the Lehigh Valley.<\/p>\n

This spring, East Stroudsburg University is offering courses for fast-track degree completion programs in both public health and computer security at its Lehigh Valley Center.\u00a0ESU\u2019s Lehigh Valley Center will also be offering an M.S. in Athletic Training \u2013 Professional Practice program this summer, with more undergraduate and graduate degree programs to follow in the fall.\u00a0For more details visit www.esu.edu\/lehighvalley<\/a>.<\/p>\n
