Christina Ellis, soprano, a senior at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU), will present a recital Friday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m. at Cecilia S. Cohen Recital Hall in the university\u2019s Fine & Performing Arts Center, Normal and Marguerite streets, East Stroudsburg.<\/p>\n
Selections from Handel\u2019s The Messiah, and works by Gounod, Faur\u00e9, Liszt, and Mozart will be featured on the program.\u00a0 The recital, sponsored by the Department of Music, is open to the public at no cost.\u00a0 No tickets are necessary.<\/p>\n
A daughter of George and Gail Ellis, Christina Ellis is from Royersford, Pa.\u00a0 She is majoring in fine arts: music, with a concentration in applied music, and in media communications and technology and will be graduating in May with honors in both majors.<\/p>\n
At ESU, Ellis is a member of Concert Choir, A Cappella Ensemble and University Singers.\u00a0 She studies voice with Wendy Grice, an instructor of music at ESU.<\/p>\n
Ellis\u2019s vocal studies began when she was fourteen.\u00a0 At Spring Ford High School, she was in Concert Choir, Madrigal Choir, Vocal Ensemble and Women\u2019s Chorus.\u00a0 She was a four-year member of Tri County Honors Choir.\u00a0 She also participated in the 2008 PMEA District 11 choir.<\/p>\n
