The Department of Speech-Language Pathology at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) invites the public to an open house to celebrate its new campus location on Thursday, October 3, from 4 – 7 p.m. on the second floor of Monroe Hall.<\/p>\n
The Speech and Hearing Center at Monroe Hall features all of the equipment and accommodations essential to a quality educational program<\/a> in speech-language pathology.\u00a0The clinic serves people of all ages, infancy through adult, from the surrounding Pocono area, the Lehigh Valley and New<\/a> Jersey as well as students, faculty and staff from ESU who are in need of rehabilitation\/habilitation services.\u00a0Here, graduate students gain hands-on experience with clients who exhibit various types of communication disorders.\u00a0 A state-of-the-art observation room allows parents, guardians and spouses to observe their loved ones in therapy.\u00a0The therapy rooms are spacious, private and have increased in number. \u00a0<\/p>\n The open house will include tours of the new lab, the clinic, and classroom facilities. There will also be a demonstration of the observation system and a chance to identify department students, faculty and staff from old photos. This is a free event and refreshments will be provided.<\/p>\n The newly renovated 29,000-square-foot Monroe Hall opened in 2012. Formerly a residence hall, the building now contains two computer laboratories, four classrooms, a 68-seat stepped auditorium, and offices.
