For more information, contact Tony Leisen at aleisen@esu.edu, the director of ESU\u2019s Center for Teaching with Technology. The event is free.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cWhy is Opera Still Relevant to us Today?: How to See Tosca Without Leaving Town\u201d will be shown at 2:00 PM Friday, Nov. 8, in the Dale Snow Theatre in the Fine and Performing Arts Center<\/strong>. Opera enthusiast Eugene Galperin, Ph.D., an assistant professor of mathematics, will address concerns regarding why many people mistakenly view opera as an elite art form detached from the modern world or one that is available only to those in a few select cities. An introduction to Puccini\u2019s Tosca, a Metropolitan Opera production will be screened November 9 and 13 at Cinemark in the Stroud Mall. The first showing is at 12:55 PM on November 9; the encore presentation is at 6:30 p.m. on November 13. For more information, please call Galperin at 570-422-3931. The presentation is open to the public at no cost.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Paintball Event will Take Place from 12:30 to 4:30 PM Sunday, Nov. 10 at Stony Acres<\/strong>. Paintballs will be provided and extra paintballs will be available for purchase. Participants must register by Thursday, Nov. 7. Transportation from ESU to the event will be available. The public is invited at a cost of $30 and $15 for ESU students. Tickets available at the ticket sales desk on the 2nd floor, University Center.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cWhat\u2019s Your Anti-Drug\u201d for Students in Kindergarten Through Sixth Grade \u2013 A Poster Contest Held by the ATOD (Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs) Prevention Office \u2013 The Competition Judging Begins at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, in the Residence Life Conference Room of Hemlock Suites<\/strong>. Students will have the opportunity to interact with highly accomplished women who will provide their approaches to leadership and discuss any perceived barriers they face as female politicians and public figures.
