Following is the expected site construction activity for the week of\u00a04 June 2011.<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Masonry work is continuing on \u00a0Building \u2018A\u2019 fa\u00e7ade along Smith and Normal Streets and has begun in the court yard area.\u00a0 \u00a0Interior wall construction for the fit-out of the Lower Level of Building \u2018A\u2019 has begun and will continue.\u00a0 Elevators and aluminum frame window have arrived for Building \u2018A\u2019 and are in the process of installation.\u00a0 Hardy board installation above masonry and aluminum trim for fascia and soffits at roof overhangs will begin on Monday.\u00a0 A liquid self-leveling floor compound, poured to approximately \u00be\u201d in thickness, will begin on the first floor of Building \u2018A\u2019.<\/li>\n
  2. Rough backfill and retaining wall work will start for the University Police entrance into the lower level of Building \u2018A\u2019 and continue towards Normal Street and west along Normal Street in preparation for final site work to begin late summer.<\/li>\n
  3. Roof truss installation and installation of finish roof material consisting of roofing felt paper and shingles is continuing on the remaining roof of Building \u2018B\u2019.<\/li>\n
  4. Additional workers arrived on site to increase the efforts to install masonry on the west side of Building \u2018B\u2019 and continue to the north fa\u00e7ade.<\/li>\n
  5. Structural steel frame for the first floor lounges are complete and exterior wall and roof envelope systems are in progress.<\/li>\n
  6. Geothermal well drilling to a depth of 500 feet will continue. All 110 wells are complete for Building \u2018A\u2019 and the 111 wells for Building \u2018B\u2019 had a slight delay and is back on track to be completed by mid-week.\u00a0 The main horizontal geothermal circuit piping will be trenched and installed in the mechanical room and rough quart yard grading is to begin for Building \u2018A\u2019.<\/li>\n
  7. Revisions to the infiltration system, due to large amounts of rock below the surface of the new parking lot north of Hawthorn Hall are in the process of review by Monroe County Conservation District and East Stroudsburg Borough Engineer and await their approvals to move forward with this work.\u00a0 Relocation of underground utilities in this area have begun and will continue in preparation work for the infiltration system when approved.\u00a0 Excavation work to install two 30\u201d diameter underground storm water lines is underway on the north side of Building \u2018B\u2019.<\/li>\n
  8. Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) and Fire Sprinkler rough-ins in Building \u2018A\u2019 and throughout Building \u2018B\u2019 will continue.\u00a0 All MEP and fire sprinkler work, exterior wall insulation as well as sound-batt insulation between suites and floors and installation of gypsum wall board will continue in Building \u2018A\u2019.<\/li>\n
  9. Work to complete underground utility connections between Hemlock and Building \u2018A\u2019 has begun.\u00a0 The last of the underground storm water and main electrical utilities into Building \u2018A\u2019, and excavation work for the foundations of the exterior low wall for the trash and electrical transformer enclosure and relocation of the gas line into Hemlock will continue in this area.\u00a0 This is a six week scheduled event and is in preparation to revise a portion of grading in Lenape parking Lot for the Building \u2018A\u2019 Loading Dock.<\/li>\n
  10. Construction fences have been erected for your safety.\u00a0 All pathways have been restored and access to Lenape Hall is now via Smith Street and\/or the same pathways to Hemlock Hall via the east side of Hemlock Hall and through the Lenape parking lot.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    As a reminder, following is the expected impact around this construction activity:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Noise<\/span>. \u00a0During this period, construction activity around the sites will generate noise. \u00a0Starting 9 May 201 and ending 19 August 2011. University Approved Construction Vehicle warm-up begins at 6:30 AM and Construction Activity will start at 7:00 AM.<\/li>\n
    2. Parking<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0Parking should not be affected during this week.\u00a0However, you may note that Hawthorn Parking Lot will remain closed indefinitely for site work related to Phase I of this project in the adjacent area.\u00a0 Isabelle Street has become a \u2018dead-end\u2019 street but will continue to provide access into Hawthorn Hall, Flager-Metzgar Center, and the DGS Building, including the Facilities Management Annex.\u00a0 All pedestrian sidewalks around Hawthorn will remain in service.<\/li>\n
    3. Safety<\/span>. \u00a0You are reminded to stay outside the construction fence and remain alert to slow moving construction vehicles exiting and entering the site. \u00a0Please observe all construction rerouting signs and avoid walking between the construction fence and traffic on Smith and Normal Streets.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
