\u201cHealthy You Day,\u201d at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania\u2019s Lehigh Valley Center in Bethlehem, Pa., proved to be a rousing success as more than 75 people attended the event.<\/p>\n
As guests entered the front doors, they were greeted by information booths with topics ranging from stress management to blood pressure screenings to nutritional awareness; a smoothie stand offering recipes and free samples; a room featuring interactive Zumba presentations; and a computer lab that had been outfitted for interactive diabetes management and STD\/STI awareness workshops.<\/p>\n
All members of the Lehigh Valley Public Health Alliance were present, including Steve Shive, Ph.D., ESU professor of health studies and LVPHA faculty adviser, the Lehigh Valley Center staff, and the friends and family of many public health students.<\/p>\n
Attendees received vinyl ESU tote bags with reusable ESU water bottles inside. Special prizes were awarded to the first attendees to visit all of the \u201cstations.\u201d<\/p>\n
ESU\u2019s Lehigh Valley Center provides residents the chance to obtain affordable, accelerated undergraduate degrees in public health, business management and computer security in downtown Bethlehem. In addition, individuals may earn a master\u2019s degree in athletic training and, beginning this May, may become part of the speech-language pathology graduate prerequisite program.
