Two doctoral degrees in administration and leadership studies will be awarded during spring commencement exercises at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania on Friday, May 9, at 7 p.m. in Koehler Fieldhouse.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Susan N. Gravle Werkheiser worked as an educator for the past 26 years. Last July, she pursued other interests in the area of education, particularly that of educational law when she sought a paralegal studies degree from Boston University, which she earned last December. Currently, she is an independent parent advocate who writes several blogs. She wrote her doctoral dissertation on the topic, \u201cAn Exploration of the Effects of a Literature-Based Social Emotional Learning Curriculum on the Kindergarten Classes in a Large K-5 Elementary School.\u201d She earned her Bachelor of Science from ESU in 1985 and a Master of Education from East Stroudsburg University in 1997.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Kathleen Sottile has served as principal of Floral Park Memorial High School in Floral Park, N.Y., for the past nine years. She wrote her doctoral dissertation on the topic, \u201cExploring the Relationship Between Accomplished Teaching Through National Board Certification for Teachers and Teacher Leadership in New York State.\u201d She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Marywood University in 1989 and her Master of Arts from Marywood University in 2001.<\/p>\n
