A.W.A.Y. (Active Warriors All Year) is an initiative of the Office of Student Engagement which engages students in altruism and social justice initiatives in and outside of Pennsylvania.

AWAY Service Opportunities


This is your chance as a Warrior to get AWAY and lend a helping hand in NYC. We will visiting the Ronald McDonald House from 1:00-4:00pm helping with various tasks including cleaning, pantry-stocking, donation- organizing and more! Student must be 18 years or older to participate in this AWAY trip.

Since their founding in 1978, Ronald McDonald House New York has provided temporary lodging and care for more than 35,000 families while their child battles cancer.

AWAY Puerto Rico

A tentative trip during Winter break is in the works to serve the population on the south east area of the island who were affected bu Hurricane Maria. Students can sign up to serve in health brigades, environmental work, and service to seniors. Applications will be available in September of 2019.

AWAY California

A tentative trip Spring Break 2020 is in the works to serve the population affected by the historic fire season. Students will be able to sign up to serve in reconstruction and clean-up efforts, as well as enjoying a view of traditional Southern California sites.
