ESU and CCM Sign Three Articulation Agreements

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania and County College of Morris have signed three articulation agreements in biology, business management and criminal justice. The agreements will facilitate the transfer of college credits earned at County College of Morris in a seamless way that will allow students to transfer their credits toward the bachelor’s degree program at ESU.

Biochemistry and Chemical Biotechnology Major Eve Salzberg Selected as Undergraduate Speaker for Winter Commencement Ceremony

Eve T. Salzberg, a graduating senior with a double major in biochemistry and chemical biotechnology from Cherry Hill, N.J., was selected from a pool of student speaker candidates to serve as East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania’s undergraduate student speaker for the winter commencement ceremony on Saturday, December 17, at 8:45 a.m. in Koehler Fieldhouse. Undergraduate student speaker candidates must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average entering the fall semester; a demonstrated record of service to the university community and a record of citizenship and cooperation; demonstrated evidence of meaningful extra/co-curricular involvement and must be in good academic standing.

Seven East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania faculty members and over 70 graduate and undergraduate students attended the convention of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association held in Philadelphia in November.  The event was attended by over 15,000 individuals seeking continuing education, networking, and job and educational opportunities.

National Center for Fathering CEO Selected to be Keynote Speaker at 2017 MLK Celebration Breakfast

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania selected Carey Casey, chief executive officer of the National Center for Fathering (NCF), to be the keynote speaker for the 2017 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Breakfast. The 20th annual celebration honoring Dr. King is scheduled for Monday, January 16, 2017, at 8 a.m. in the Mattioli Recreation Center on ESU’s campus. The theme of this year’s breakfast is “Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend.”

Career Website Names East Stroudsburg No. 1 Place to be a Teacher

A career website has named East Stroudsburg as the top place in the nation to be a teacher just as a shortage of educators is expected to create hot demand for new teachers in the region.

The web site Zippia, which provides career information for a wide array of professions, ranked the East Stroudsburg area as the No. 1 community for teachers. Zippia gets no argument from Terry Barry Ed.D., dean of the College of Education at East Stroudsburg University.
