The Student Senate of East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU), in collaboration with ESU’s Women’s Center, the Musical Theatre Organization and Interfraternity Council, will host a Sexual Assault Awareness Walk on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. The walk will begin at the University Courtyard, located directly behind ESU’s University Center on Normal Street in East Stroudsburg at 2:00 p.m., and will end at the University’s Women’s Center, 411 Normal Street.
At the conclusion of the walk, there will be information tables and interactive exercises for participants, facilitated by ESU peer educators, students who are specifically trained to provide educational programs and outreach on responsible decision-making towards health, wellness, and safety topics including alcohol, drugs, sexual violence, sexually transmitted infections and stress management. At 3:30 p.m., there will be an “Honest Conversation,” about relationship violence in ESU’s Women’s Center, facilitated by Sharon A. Brown, the Center’s faculty coordinator.
This initiative is in addition to other programming that occurs at ESU’s Women’s Center in April during Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
All aspects of this event are open to the general public at no cost. For more information contact Student Senator, Hafiz Tunis via email htunis@live.esu.eduor ESU’s Women’s Center, call (570) 422-3957 or e-mail sbrown@esu.edu.
