Reporting of Observations or Knowledge of Violence, Abuse, or Other Crimes on Campus
November 18, 2011 Categories: President's Messages
The recent media reporting about revelations of apparent sexual assaults and abuse of minor children at Penn State University is shocking. The allegations reported should serve as a stark reminder to everyone within the ESU community to be familiar with systems in place to ensure children who have occasion to be on the ESU campus are protected from violence or abuse.
If you directly observe what appears to be a sexual assault or other abuse of a child on campus or if you hear of an incident of possible child abuse or other crime(s) on campus please call the university police at 570-422-2000. University staff and faculty members are asked to inform their immediate supervisor after first calling university police. Supervisors will in turn contact the appropriate vice president.
