The Campus Activity Board (CAB) at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania announced that MKTO will be the performer for the Spring Concert on March 26 at Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, Pa.
Members of CAB, a student organization that focuses on campus life activities, surveyed students last semester to narrow down the concert choices for the spring semester. About 1,000 students participated in the survey that led to MKTO’s selection.
“It’s so important for us to do something that bring students together,” said Ginamarie Canepa, a junior majoring in communication studies from Dingmans Ferry, Pa., who is also chair of the concert committee. “The selection of the concert is based entirely on students’ votes.”
MKTO is an up-and-coming duo comprised of Malcom Kelly and Tony Oller. The group signed to Columbia Records and released their debut single “Thank You” on January 15, 2013. MKTO released their second single “Classic” on June 20, 2013. During the summer of 2014, the duo went on their first headlining tour.
“MKTO is different from many concerts we’ve had at ESU, and we hope it brings in a large crowd,” Canepa said.
Tickets for the concert are now on sale. They are $15 for ESU students and $30 for the general public. Tickets for the ESU discount are limited to two per student.
