ESU Students Offering Free Tax Preparation Help

East Stroudsburg University accounting students are offering their assistance to the general public in preparing tax returns free of charge through Saturday, April 14. The ESU Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program will be offered from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays at the ESU Innovation Center, located at 562 Independence Road, East Stroudsburg, Pa.
All ESU students involved in providing the tax preparation assistance are business management and accounting majors who have received training by the IRS and passed the required qualifying exam. The service is a voluntary component of the students’ required coursework and the associated educational professional development and community service. Student volunteers include: Elva Composto, from Tobyhanna, Pa.; James Connolly, from Philadelphia, Pa.; Kyle Evans, from Tamaqua, Pa.; Jacob Santoli, from Bergenfield, N.J.; and RichardStoddard, from Cranston, R.I.
