ESU’s College of Business and Management and College of Arts and Sciences Sign Articulation Agreements With Lackawanna College

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania is signing two articulation agreements with Lackawanna College in the B.S. in Sports Management and the B.S. in Criminal Justice programs.

ESU’s College of Business and Management will enter into an articulation agreement with Lackawanna College’s Division of Business that facilitates the transfer of college credits earned in Sport Management at Lackawanna College in a seamless way that will allow students to transfer their college credits toward the Bachelor of Science degree program in sport management at ESU.

“This provides both institutions with the bridge between the programs in sport management at a time when the sport, recreation and tourism industries are expanding throughout the region while building brand value for both institutions in their alignment with these industries,” said Robert Fleischman, J.D., Ed.D., ESU’s dean of the college of business and management.

ESU’s College of Arts and Sciences will enter into an articulation agreement with Lackawanna College’s Division of Social Science that facilitates the seamless transfer of college credits earned at Lackawanna College toward the Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice at ESU.

“Criminal justice is the fourth largest major at ESU and is growing to meet the needs of our state and region,” said Peter Hawkes, Ph.D., dean of the college of arts and sciences. “This agreement highlights a cooperation between the colleges that is focused on making it easier for students to meet their educational objectives for careers in criminal justice.”

This articulation agreement will allow students who graduate from Lackawanna College with an Associate Degree of Science in Criminal Justice to seamlessly transfer into ESU’s Bachelor of Science in criminal justice program. Students will enter ESU as juniors and will be able to complete their degrees within two years.

Founded in 1893, ESU is one of the 14 institutions in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. ESU offers nearly 60 undergraduate degrees and more than 20 graduate degrees.

Both articulation agreements officially will be signed on Wednesday, August 6, at 11 a.m. in room 336 of ESU’s Innovation Center.
