Five ESU Alumni Return To ESU To Participate In Panel Discussion About Careers In Communications

Panelists will include:
- Melodie Warner ’95, a reporter for the Dow Jones Newswire and a graduate with dual degrees from ESU’s English and communication studies departments. Ms. Warner’s work can be seen in the Wall Street Journal, WSJ.com, MarketWatch, and other Dow Jones publications.
- Kimberly Miller Robbins ’95, the director of change management, communications and marketing excellence for the Pfizer pharmaceutical company of Collegeville, Pa. Ms. Robbins was a graduate of both the English and communication studies departments at ESU, and her current responsibilities include public relations, marketing communications, and social media information for the Pfizer organization.
- Deborah Chernichaw ’97, vice president of on-air planning and strategy for Nickelodeon, Nick-at-Nite, and Nick Jr., based out of Manhattan, N.Y., Ms. Chernichaw graduated from ESU with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies. During the panel discussion, she will share her expertise in developing communications for a major television network with event attendees.
- Roseann Cadea ’81, an executive director for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in Harrisburg, where she supervises staff and informational projects. A graduate of ESU’s communications studies department, Ms. Cadea will share her expertise in governmental communications with event attendees. She is also a liaison for Representative Louise Bishop and has expertise in governmental communications.
- Colin McEvoy ’06, reporter for The Express-Times in the Lehigh Valley. Mr. McEvoy, who also just co-authored his first book Love Me or Else, published earlier this year, earned dual degrees in English and communication studies while at ESU.
Event Coordinator and English Department Chair, Dr. Nancy VanArsdale, will moderate the panel discussions. Students and other attendees may ask questions and network with the professionals after the program, which is being sponsored by the university’s English Department.
