Thirteen ESU Students Named to Who’s Who

Thirteen students from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) have been selected as national outstanding leaders and will be featured in the 2017 publication, Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. For over 80 years, this publication has honored outstanding campus leaders for their scholastic, leadership and community achievements.
ESU students being honored this year are: Theresa Chey, a junior majoring in business management from Lebanon, Pa.; Samantha DeVivo, a junior majoring in marine science from Stroudsburg, Pa.; Ashley Gungor, a junior majoring in early childhood and special education from Glen Cove, N.Y.; Ashlyn Jackson, a junior majoring in biology from Harrisburg, Pa.; Hayley Jackson, a junior majoring in communication sciences and disorders from Bath, Pa.; Abigail Kaspszyk, a junior majoring in psychology from Kunkletown, Pa.; Abigail Possinger, a senior majoring in communication sciences and disorders from Effort, Pa.; Jordan Ruby, a junior majoring in communication sciences and disorders from Scranton, Pa.; Emma Skilton, a junior majoring in communication sciences and disorders and theatre from Townsend, Del.; Mathilde Tank-Munifa, a graduate student studying political science from Stroudsburg, Pa.; Tammy Tuckey, a junior majoring in business management from Ambler, Pa.; Rosa Veliky a junior majoring in digital media technologies from Harrisburg, Pa.; and Samantha Weston, a junior majoring in communication sciences and disorders from Philadelphia, Pa.
The campus nominating committee and the editors of the annual Who’s Who directory have recognized these students based on their academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success. They join an elite group of students selected from more than 1,000 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and several foreign countries. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
Through its years of serving higher education, Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges has become one of the most highly regarded and long-standing honors programs in the nation, having earned the overwhelming respect of college faculties and administrations. For the students – the outstanding campus leaders of the year – national recognition by the Who’s Who program marks a pinnacle of scholastic achievement.
