Provost’s Colloquium Series Presents a Talk on Toxic Leadership: Its Impact on Individuals, Organizations, and Even Nations

East Stroudsburg University’s Provost’s Colloquium Series, an intellectual experience that promotes dialogue among ESU faculty, staff, students, and community, continues with a presentation by Jamie Kizer, manager of the entrepreneurial leadership center. The presentation “Toxic Leadership: Its Impact on Individuals, Organizations, and Even Nations” will take place on Wednesday, February 26 at 5:30 p.m. in Beers Lecture Hall. The lecture is open to the public at no cost.

Kizer will discuss her research on toxic leadership, the most destructive of all leadership styles. Citing current day and historical examples, she will shed light on the traits, characteristics and behaviors of a toxic leader and the negative impact that they can have on both the individuals and organizations in which they lead. Also discussed, as part of this timely topic, will be the three domains which make up “the toxic triangle” – destructive leaders, susceptible followers, and conducive environments. Through interactive discussion, Kizer will provide context and solutions on how to best minimize the impact of this leadership style on both the workplace culture and the individuals who work for them.
