ESU Professors, Students to Work With Allentown Seventh-Graders at Archaeological Dig in Bath

From left, Dilan Aracia, a seventh-grader from Harrison-Morton Middle School in Allentown and East Stroudsburg University Professional and Secondary Education Graduate Student Mike Pacanowski from Pocono Mountain, take part in an actual archaeological dig at the Governor Wolf homestead in Bath, Pa., on May 4, searching for artifacts on the grounds of the home and one-room school house of the former Pennsylvania Governor George Wolf, who served the Commonwealth from 1829-1835. Nicknamed the Big Dig, this collaborative project has been months in the making. The project was designed to bring together seventh grade students from Harrison-Morton and ESU students to dig for artifacts on the grounds of the home and one-room schoolhouse of the former Gov. George Wolf, who served as Pennsylvania’s governor 1829-1835 and was a pioneer in public education for all children.
