East Stroudsburg University’s Madelon Powers Gallery will host a special Martin Luther King, Jr. gallery exhibition featuring the artwork submitted for the Julianna V. Bolt Art Contest. The exhibition will be open from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2023. The contest, held each year in conjunction with ESU’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Breakfast, gives local high school students an opportunity to share artwork that reflects their interpretation of the theme of the program. This year’s theme is “I Have a Dream” – 60 Years Later.
The exhibition will feature the work of this year’s 55 contest participants representing East Stroudsburg North High School, East Stroudsburg South High School, Pocono Mountain East High School, Pocono Mountain West High School, and Stroudsburg High School.
While the winners of the contest will be recognized during the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Breakfast on January 16 at 8 a.m. at Terraview at Stroudsmoor Country Inn, all 55 pieces of art submitted to the contest will be on display in the Madelon Powers Gallery during the exhibit. The gallery is located in ESU’s Fine and Performing Arts Center, Normal and Marguerite Streets, East Stroudsburg, Pa. The gallery exhibit is open to the public at no cost.
