On Monday, November 8, a group of East Stroudsburg University resident advisors (RAs) participated in a basic fire extinguisher training. Nate Black, ESU’s director of environmental health and safety, led the training. He began with basic fire safety tips such as what to do when a fire alarm goes off, how sprinkler systems work, and why it’s important to take every fire alarm seriously. The group then learned how to use a fire extinguisher using the PASS method (Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep).
The students used a fire extinguisher training system provided by Monroe County Office of Emergency Management.
