Located on the vibrant campus of East Stroudsburg University in the Pocono Mountains region of Pennsylvania, student operated 90.3 WESS-FM prioritizes the broadcasting of diverse sounds and voices. We are an FCC licensed, non-commercial, mtvU College Radio Woodie Award winning radio station committed to bringing an eclectic and informative mix of content to our listeners.

Our rich, tasteful musical palette offers both listeners and DJs a refreshing break from the usual, granting them the freedom to explore a wide world of varied musical genres and perspectives. Beyond music, WESS provides a platform for dynamic discourse through our array of talk shows. Here, listeners are more than just passive receivers; they’re invited to actively engage, call in, and share their views on contemporary topics.

Sports enthusiasts can revel in our comprehensive coverage of the Warriors’ home football and basketball games. Under the expert narration of our sports directors and their dedicated crew, each game comes alive, play by play, ensuring fans don’t miss a moment.

For those yearning for a touch of nostalgia, we dive into the golden era of radio and feature vintage radio classics like “Fibber McGee and Molly.” We pride ourselves on being far from conventional, offering a unique blend of the old and the new.

Students at ESU can tune into our stimulating content on FM frequency 90.3, and for those beyond the campus bounds, our digital presence ensures they’re not left out. Our broadcast day is streamed live online and podcast content is available on demand as well.

Our broadcast reach goes beyond just the university premises. Operating at a robust 1000 watts, our signal stretches out, touching the hearts of listeners over a 15-30 mile radius across the Poconos and reaching into parts of northwestern New Jersey.

To further reach out to our community of listeners, we host various events throughout the year featuring student and local musicians including our Spring Jam concert series on campus and our series of live music presentations in collaboration with Stroudsburg’s Sherman Theater, a hotspot for live music in the Pocono Mountain region.  Our special broadcast events include our annual celebration of World College Radio Day with a twenty-four hour wall to wall marathon radio jam session featuring current student DJs along with faculty and alumni guests.

At its core, WESS is more than just entertainment. It’s a platform for experiential learning, giving students a real-world immersion into the world of radio broadcasting. Furthermore, we see ourselves as community partners, dedicated to enriching the cultural tapestry of East Stroudsburg University and its neighboring areas with educational and entertaining programming.
