Men’s Basketball Wins First Regional Title, Heads to Sioux Falls, SD for Elite 8

ESU’s men’s basketball team won its first NCAA Division II regional title in school history on Tuesday night, topping Shippensburg 84-72 for the Atlantic Region championship. The Warriors advance to the Elite 8 in Sioux Falls, S.D. and a quarterfinal match-up vs. Northern State (S.D.) on Tuesday, March 20. If ESU advances, it would play in the semifinals on Thursday night, followed by the national championship game on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET, broadcast on CBS.

First Openly Transgender Person Elected to PA Office Set to Speak at ESU

ESU’s student group PRIDE (People Representing Individual Diversity in Education) will host guest speaker Tyler Titus. Titus became the first openly transgender person to be elected in Pennsylvania when he won a seat on the Erie School Board in 2017. He will speak on campus on March 22, 2018, in Stroud Hall room 113 at 7:30 p.m.

Warriors Men’s Basketball Captures 3rd PSAC Championship in 7 Years

ESU’s men’s basketball team won the 2018 PSAC championship, its third in the last seven years, with an 89-67 win over Gannon on March 4 at Koehler Fieldhouse. The Warriors are the No. 2 seed in the Atlantic Regional in the NCAA Division II Tournament, which will be played at Virginia State from Saturday through Tuesday. The Warriors are in the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time since 2010.
